Default Power door locks

Hi Guys!
I'm BRAND new to this site, so please bear with me OK? I just picked up a nice used 1995 Bonneville. I'm tryin to troubleshoot the power door locks. Both switches on either of the front doors will lock the doors. However, they will NOT unlock them when the switch is pressed to unlock. Now I took apart the switch on the passenger side door and cleaned both sets of contact points. (One is used to lock and the other is used to unlock). Truthfully, they were fairly clean. Not surprising, because the switch itself is pretty well sealed from dust or corrossion. Anyway, I re-installed the switch and STILL had the problem. The next thing I tried was the 3 prong female plug that attaches to the switch.Touching 2 prongs with a bare wire will lock the doors. BUT ANY OTHER COMBINATION OF 2 PRONGS WILL NOT UNLOCK. From what I've seen, in a power door lock diagram, the POWER DOOR LOCK RELAY supposedly seperately supplies 12 volts to both the lock and unlock circuits. Do you think it'* a likely culprit? It'* not expensive to buy, but I wanted an opinion from you before I do. Anything you can tell me will be greatly appreciaed......................Thanks, Mike

remove and apply 12 volts to the relay, if it clicks, its most likely fine.

btw I also just got a 95

Superchargerheaven,
A good suggestion, but are both sets of contacts inside the relay clicking? It supposedly has 2 sets. One to lock and the other to unlock.

I wish I could tell you if I could find the damn thing! A tech told me under the driver'* seat either under the rug or mounted underneath the seat itself. Man! I looked. Any chance that bugger is located on the right side fuse box behind that kick panel? There'* about 7 or 8 relays in that box, but NONE of them affected the door locks from locking when removed. Judging from a picture I have of it, it looks nothing like your typical relay.
