Default What is my GXP worth

I have been given the job of selling the 2005 GXP for Mom, after Dad passed a short time ago. He bought it new and hardly drove it. The clock says only 5k miles, and I know he paid over $40k for it. It is a high option car. Any opinions on what it would bring? Thanks in advance for any info.

I just realized I may have posted in the wrong area. I'm new ....sorry abou that.

I did a KBB search for the closest US zip code to me (Detroit) and excellent condition, with 5000 miles, came back a scary low of $16 656 (private sale).

Sad....but, hey its how it goes.

I saw your craigs list ad and you have it priced way to high! Like Jim said the resale value on the GXP is terrible. The dealership where I bought my car from had it listed for $18,999 with 12k on it and 1 year later with only 19k its worth a sad 13k and I owe a lot more than that :?

Amazing. For that kind of money we would probably just keep it. I'm hoping the fact that it hasn't been driven will fetch a little bit more.

You have to remember, it'* still a 3 year old car, and actually many people tend to stay away from lower mileage cars, as that could mean that it was sitting for a long time (could lead to vacuum, fuel line rot) or subjected to a lot of stop-and-go traffic. Sadly, GXPs aren't as sought after as other cars in its class, which is the main reason you couldn't sell it for 30k. The most you could sell it for, IMO, is around 25k. I've seen dealers sell 2004 GXPs with around 50k miles for 18k or even 20k and, while you're not a dealer (I think), you could too with some work. Just know that it probably won't sell here

This isn't a mechanical issue. Moved to General Chat.

Probably a good idea. My Aurora is worth about $12 dollars, so I just try to enjoy it and not think about how much its worth in the eyes of others.

I had a 2004 GXP with 37k on it when it was totaled. The insurance company gave me $19,700 IIRC. This was back in February. Hopefully that helps out.

Sorry to hear about you 2004......How about a really clean 2005 to replace her?

I guess I need to face reality on the price.....
