SES Light
My SES light went on in the Bonneville. Great
Does anyone know of any chain of stores that will test OBD I for free? Autozone only does OBD II.
Also, my Cruise Control doesn't work now. Is this because of the light?

When my VSS(Vehicle Speed Sensor - for all the Gearheads) crapped out on me, I lost the cruise along with the Speedo and Overdrive with the xmission. BUT, for whatever reason, the SES light never came on. Anyway, after I replaced the VSS everything came back to life.
Sorry, I don't know of a place to check your codes for free.

You don't need a scan tool.
The instructions are in the techinfo section.
In summary, short 2 specific pins on the connector below the driver'* side dashboard and turn the ignition on but don't start the engine. The SES light will flash any stored codes.
Good luck.
