Just a real nice grove. The chain and tensioner from my old engine only has a few thousand miles on it, so it'* fine..

Found a little more time, and a little helper, so got more done. First had to pick up a new T30 socket. And was finally able to get the old cam out.

That'* it for today. Tomorrow after the kids are in school I'll get to work again. Going to finish up the front of the engine, then swap the flex plate. Need to remove the oil filter adapter to put the oil pressure mod in place. Then swap out the stock valve springs with 105# springs, put the OR push rods in, rockers, then get to work on the LIM, intercooler plate and supercharger. Then it'* ready to lift in to place. My hope is to get it back in the car tomorrow, but don't expect to get it running until I have off work next week Monday.

You are using stock rockers right? I'm not understanding why you'd use Oil Restricted pushrods. The thought on them was that when you get roller rockers, you can hold back some oil to bump pressure and keep the lifters pumped up a little more since the rockers supposedly don't require as much oil. Yet.. some rocker vendors have found issues from lack of oiling.

Don't hate the messanger. Just tossing it out there.

Uh Gunner.. how frequent were your oil changes buddy? I'm asking..because we need to change it just a little more often. Some tell me I change mine too often, yet my motors stay sparkling clean inside. A little early on a change is often not a bad thing.

I used the OR push rods when I had rollers. Stock rockers right now. Some day I need to send in those HS 1.6:1 rollers for a rebuild. I forgot they were on the shelf. I guess I could put the stock push rods back in and use the ORs when I go to rollers.

Gunner, the engine was sludged rather bad on the top. The lifters were stuck. But it'* all better now.

Even with a roller rocker, I'd stick with a normal pushrod. Many have changed their thoughts about the best way to do things on these motor.

I have a set of 1.6:1 rockers as well. Just need to send them back to HS to be freshened up.

I will do that Bill. Never really put much thought in to it I guess.

Dan.. me either for the longest time. Recently I've come across many folks making different recommendations which gets one thinking about it. Once you start looking into it, the pro'* and con'* start to point in one direction.

It'* like when your woman says someting to you. At first it sounds off the wall and totally nuts. A bit more info or time and she seems to almost start making sense.
