Transmission Service
My 2004 SLE is at 25,000 miles. Is having Complete Transmission Service overkill at this mileage. Some members I respect have indicated that a transmission should be flushed every 25K miles.
One other thing this will be a free service at the dealership. The dealership I use is one that I would not classify as a stealership.
I plan on have it done next week prior to some crazy trip to Enfield, CT.

25k miles? whoa...i'm behind then. I plan on doing a tranny service at NEBF....I've gotten different feedback regarding doing a total flush first vs just a service. Both make sense in their arguments....1) do the flush first to purge out all old fluid, then do the service to change the filter. or 2) just do the service because the fluid shouldn't be all that bad.

Transmission fluid is an oil and oils and the detergents that are added to them break down over miles and time.
25K isn't too early to start a good flush/service regiment.

Thanks for the replies.
The dealer I go to is getting a new flush machine installed soon. I think I will wait on the new machine since the old one is broken.
I will do the free oil change before comming to NEBF. Probably rotate the tires myself this weekend.
