i know the 92-95 and 96-99 have different engine but also the body styling of the older ones just seemed to look a tad nicer and when i was checking out my local junkyard i saw a sweet trashed 92-95 SSEi it seemed so much nicer than my 96 SSEi, it had the gold trim, gold badges and emblems, the hood insulation had a neat silk screen of the pontiac logo and sometihng about the interior looked a little nicer, just seemed more fancy

The changes were minor and subtle, but you've got a little mixup on the engines. On the non-supercharged, the 95 was the same as every year since. 95 had the Series 2.

Series 2 L67 started in 96, though.

Some things are a little harder or complicated on a 96 over a 95 body. The headlights need tools to pull out, the alternators are harder to take off, PCV is a lil harder, belts on NA are trickier...

But they did get cleaner looking headlights, and metal 1/4 panel fenders. A little nicer cupholders in the doors. The interior on them seem'* a little more 3 dimensional, the switch plates are taller curved in the later models for instance.

Small things. Depending on what you're after they will or won't matter. Some you don't even notice unless you've driven both a bunch, or have them side by side.

i do like the cupholders, seems like i might get a 94 or sometihng for my next car and then but my inner door panels in it to keep the cupholders, if it will fit?

Don't use the door cupholders. They splash on the doors every time someone shuts one. Add the cupholders to each side of the center console like I did. The hold bigger drinks in a more convenient manner.

ive never had a problem with the door cupholders, i dont keep open cups there and i make sure to drink anytihng that cud spill down a bit firs,t but what do you mean by puuting them on the side of the center console? you got a pic?

Yeah they're good on road trips, but you do gotta be carefull....

I wouldn't mind a set like Will has, but i haven't found any locally that are what i'm looking for.

Just generic cupholders. The type that has the flexible strap to stuff into the window channel. I pulled those out, and cleaned the console and cupholder back really well with alcohol, then stuck them on with 3M body trim tape (the gray stuff with the red peel layer).

They've been there for 2 years, and hold a big gulp or smaller. My Honda has an identical set in dark gray
