Just purchased a set of the Bosch Platinum +2 spark plugs for my 97 Bonneville but have not installed them yet. No gapping required.
Has anyone used this brand?
Any tips on doing the plugs on the back side of the engine?

Most stay away from Bosch, not sure how the plugs are. But being a NA engine the platinum plugs will be OK.

As for the rear plugs, remove the cross bar that'* on top of the struts. Then you will have all the room you need.

X2. Everyone who I have talked to who ever bought Bosch plugs removed them promptly, returned them, and got some Autolite or ACDelco plugs. I've also had great experiences with both of those brands, as well as with Champion plugs. Bosch seems to be a big no-no for gm cars as they just don't run as well with those in there. If I were you I'd return them.

I use the e3 diamond fire plugs..put them in the silverado to test if they are better and it seems to run cleaner i guess i like em but cheapo autolites or delcos will do just fine

More or less. Once you get a good feel for where everything is, you'll be fine.

First time I did my spark plugs, it look me two hours. Next time, 20 minutes (with dawdling).

Had mixed results over the years with Bosch. One sure way to know (And its happened to me) If the car runs abruptly crappy after you install them, know it'* them that caused it and throw them in the trash. We don't know why. But GM V6'* tend to cry when they see Bosch.

From what I've read here (and correct me if I'm wrong), it'* because the 3800 fires the plug twice per cycle, which the Bosch plugs are not designed for. Thus, the plug wears twice as fast.

I think there'* a second reason involving the manufacturing process or materials, but it escapes me at the moment.

Either case, I go for AutoLites until I hear of something definitely better. Bosch makes okay sensors and whatnot, but avoid the plugs in a 3800.

3800s use what is called a waste spark ignition. That means 1 coil fires two plugs at the same time. One is on the fire stroke, the other is on the exhaust stroke. Not sure if that wears on the plugs more. I've just stayed away from everything Bosch. Their O2 sensors should be avoided like the plague.

I bought the plugs 2 weeks ago while in Florida.
At the time I was trying to remember a post on here about what brand of plug to stay away from.
For some reason I thought it was Autolite.
It must of been the 25 hour straight through drive from here to Orlando.
I will take them back to Wal Mart in the morning and pick up some Delco or Autolites.
I did pick up a battery for the Bonneville while in Florida, $77.00 compared to $120 here.

I think that half cocked reason was formulated by a former Admins here who had to much time at work to think up half brained logic and drank to much home brewed alcoholic beverages. While the plus if firing on the exhaust cycle, it isn't seeing the wear of comperssed combustion. This also doesn't fit the scenario alot of people (including me) have where the engine immediately starts acting up and misfiring. It'* a very strange hit or miss occurrence, but I'be never heard a credible answer for it.
