Absolutely. I'm just posting to let you know not to worry, and that you will get money. The cost of the repair at a shop is surely more than your deductible.

Dan,'
My parked 2007 F350 was hit in the rear quarter panel at work by a 19 year old uninsured, unemployed mother who had just bought a junk minivan from a buy here pay here lot. She was driving in the snow and ran a stop sign and ran into the the parking lot. Damage was 2k, and I had a 1k deductible. My insurance company told me it was a "non chargeable claim". Had the repair done and paid 1k, insurance paid 1k. My policy doubled shortly after. When I called my agent- he stated a non-chargeable claim only meant they would not mark me as a bad driver. Did not mean they would not raise my rates. I would never have claimed the accident if I would have known I was going to get clobbered. Probably have a accident history tied to the VIN also on carfax, even though the damage was only cosemetic.
BTW- I was not pissed at the 19 year old uninsured Mom. I was livid with the buy here pay here lot that sold her a junk mini-van (that now had a totaled front end) and let her drive away without insurance. Took everything in my brain not to go to that lot and go postal. I actually felt bad for the Mom, now she is paying weekly for a totaled vehicle that was junk when she bought it, I am sure my insurance company sent her to collection... and how does she find a job with no vehicle.

The holes are molded as part of the support for the structure. I'm not sure I'd take on that work because it might hurt in a crash situation.

Thats easy to say, not knowing the realities. No Insurance company covers Custom Paint without a very expensive attached "rider". A lot of them don't even want to handle the car. I looked into it when I had it done and the annual expense didn't make it sound reasonable. If Custom insured, the entire $7000 would be payed out and the car totally redone. Even for a sizable "blemish mark" That makes premiums for insurance on paint schemes other than a solid color crazy. As it is, I am going to have to settle for the broken pieces to be replaced, painted the OEM Cranberry Metallic. And a nervous trip to the Custom shop to see if things can be matched adequately. Candy paint bleaches out with age, the paint is 4 years old, and I may end up leaving it and wearing a bra full time. I feel very lucky the impact didn't affect the fender or door.
