Default Solid frame??

I was thinking about this the other day and figured I would pose the question here.

Seeing how the 90 Bonneville SSE has a 112.2 inch (2850 mm) wheel base, what other cars out there that had a solid frame come close to that. As you may have figured out, I am curious since the rear frame section is what is going on the white one. I was thinking of the possibilities of finding a solid frame vehicle, and mount the body on top of that. Now I know there would be a fair bit of work in the wheel wells, but that would also give the possibility of having it RWD.

I am not even sure where to start looking to find a car with a similar wheel base that was built on an actual frame.

Any thoughts?

It'* been done with a modified mid-90s Caprice frame and a 92 or 93 SSEi.

Hmmm interesting. There were many caprices made also. Might be worth exploring. Nothing like pulling up to the light with a nice 350 in the car and reving it, lmfao.
You would get a look like

If you do this, I'm not building my RWD Bville drag car. You would kill the originality.

Not a fan of how they did the exhaust on that one, but overall a pretty cool project.

Well I have a functioning Bonneville, but lack the caprice to work with. Too bad my Aunt and Uncle got rid of theirs a couple years ago. I bet I could find something local that the body is finished on it and use the frame from it.

I just think it would be fun to do. I mean a 1990 SSE on solid frame but with a nice v-8 in it. I know it was talked about restoring the white SSE but I don't see that happening, since the frame is what needs to be fixed and no one wants to touch it. This way you have the solid frame under it and still get to keep the car.

I know it has been done before as seen in the links, but it would still be cool none the less. I just wonder how much modifications would need to be done to tuck that frame up under the car without having to cut the whole floor out of it.
