Default Remote Starters

Have any bonnevilles ever came stock with a remote starter?

When i bought my car, we looked at the keyless entry thing, and on one button it said lock and the other side was unlock, with a line under it and then trunk. So i was messing around with it trying to open the trunk (which i still have yet to figure out) and all the sudden the car started. When i press both unlock and lock at the same time the car starts. I really dont think the dealer even knew this, because they never told us about it.

That is not a factory option. It'* an aftermarket remote starter wired to work with your existing remote.

i dont meen to get off topic but when u install a remote starter in cars like ours that have pass key. does the remote starter bypass the passkey? is so does it bypass it all the time or just when its started up? cuz i really wouldnt mind having remote start.

If done correctly, it should only put the resistor in line when it is starting, using a relay.

Passkey III is a transponder type system not the resistor type (VATS/Passlock). There is a module (555G is the DEI part #) with a programmed key that gets installed and bypasses the passkey system only with remote start. stb4224 take a picture of your remote and that will make it easier. If you have a seperate trunk button try and hold it down until the trunk opens (like 3 seconds) If its hooked up it should open.

does it have any writing on it saying DEI or any brand, audiovox, ungo, astrostart? I know DEI has a certian pattern on their keychains where on the top it is Lock symbol, Unlock symbol, and on the bottom it has AUX and then a star for the last one. It could also help if you took a pic of the remote (requested earlier) or discribe the remote more in depth
