Getting an SSEI
I stumbled on a 1993 SSEI with 120,000 miles. It has a bad or nonworking supercharger. The body has no rust, there is a dent in the rear passenger door along with a broken smaller window in the same door. The seats are cracked, drivers seat has a wear spot through the leather. There is no radio,he took it out, lots of chips on the rear bumper and spoiler. The mirror is missing on the front passengert door.
PS,I got him down to $250.00,and it has new tires.
I will be in the market for parts soon.Tim

Is it by any chance a white car?
That sounds exactly like the Parts car I was going to get last summer. The guy wanted 400, and I came back two weeks later to get it and he sold it just the day before for 250...
Anyway, got any major plans or just fix her up to be drivable?
Got Pics?

I forgot to ask,can I put a shorter belt on the car to bypass the supercharger so I can drive this car home instead of towing it.Thanks,,Tim

Unfortunately on the Series I you cannot remove the supercharger belt. The supercharger belt also drives the water pump. So, unless you want to overheat on the way home, you better not remove that belt.
When you say the "supercharger is not working", what do you mean? Superchargers aren't exactly known for "failing".

Well,I paid for it tonight,he told me that it was making noise and a shop told him it was going bad??The car does not start,it has sat for at least 4 months,I am going to pick it up I have a friend who has a car trialer.I am going to have to get a battery for it,and a stereo. It has some potential,it was garaged every winter so it has no rust and the body is in excellent shape except for the one dent that looks like it will pop right out.
I am very excited to get started on this project,I will keep you guys up to date.Tim

The noise is very likely the supercharger coupler inside the nosedrive. Start a new topic in Forced Induction for help with that. It'* a $30 part, but will cost you near 100 to do it yourself. Superchargers don't 'go bad'. They are almost entirely rebuildable.

I got the car home tonight, the previous owner stated that the car would not start.I put a new battery in it and it started on the first try!!It did not idle smoothly and it died very quickly.I could hear grinding sounds from the supercharger.I tried everything electrical out and except for the angle switch for the seats it all works fine. The mileage was only 104,000 not the 115,00-120,000 he had told me it was.
I got to work right away and fixed the dent,99% of it disapeared, then I fixed the rear quarter window and mirror on passenger side.I am pumped up about getting this thing going.Tim
