Default should i get a higher stall torque converter?

one of my friends told me that a shift kit puts added strain on a TC and i should look into a beefier TC. is this true? if so, what stall should i look for?

With the level of your mods I would say you definately shouldn't be looking into a high stall convertor right now. A shift kit isn't going to hurt your stock torque convertor...
