looong4, You're the best judge if you've seen the car in real life. The 2000'* did have their problems, but not all. That autotrader site offered a free carfax, did you look at it? If the car is in good shape & stands up straight, I'd consider it. You have the best tech. support in the free world right here at BC.

I love my 2000 SSEi. It has its common failures just like any other car. More than others? Not in my case, at least.
Window regulators? Yep, they're gonna go whether you use them or not. I came up with a quick, easy, and cheap fix.
Intermediate steering shaft? Yeah, had to replace that, too...twice. Relatively easy to do, takes maybe about an hour.
Electrical problems? Not that I've had, nor read about. (My personal opinion of Consumer'* Reports on American cars is not positive.)
Hood bubble...yep, have that too.
Transmission problems? Not yet.
From my experience, I would not have any problem recommeding it to anyone.

Think of the tradeoff though.. I bet that 2000 SSEi will have a ton LESS problems than your 94 SLE in the near/distant future. At a price of 8995, you cant beat it. Make sure to transfer those wheels over . Nice to see ya around..

I've got to agree with the rest of the '00 owners here... <knocking on wood> although mine'* an '00 SLE w/56k, the only problem I had was that the electrical hookup for the passenger doors were corroded from condensation, likely from sitting too long (5 years old w/31k when I got it). I wouldn't say that the '00+'* have anymore problems or are riskier than any other car...and it definitely depends upon the maintenance/driving. That seems like a kick-*** price though.. 1 1/2 yrs ago they were going for 14-15k in my area...you'll owe less on this SSEi that I do now on my SLE, if its any consolation...
