Default New BMW kill

Never seen one (or noticed one before). A BMW 330 xi. Came up behind him at a light, and switched lanes at the last minute to be side by side. Looked like about a 25-year old driver. Probably Dad'* car. I had no idea what I was up against (visions of that damn yellow M3 from a few months ago were flashing through my head), but you never know til you try, right?

Smoked him. He tried like hell, though. I could hear him wind it up. Even with the AWD, he couldn't hang. I burned off a little and still beat him across the intersection, and had him SOUNDLY spanked by the time the lanes merged to one.....about 300' from the light.

He got a good look at the badge on my trunk lid for the next 10 miles.

I looked it up just now to see what it was.......makes me wonder how I'd hang with the M3 now that I have a few more mods under my belt. Here'* a link:

225hp. in a little BMW isn't that bad, but of course the bonneville would kill him with torque . Very nice kill!

SWEEEET kill. The more I think about it, the more I laugh becuase of how embarrased that "rich" kid must have been. But he was up against a tough car to beat

I know those people though. I would see a ton of 20-22 year old college students driving their parents' new BMW'* (and Lexus RX300'* and Audi'*) and they think they're better than anyone and everyone. Never killed one yet but that'* because I haven't raced one, and I don't have my intake yet! My muffler will be here in two days!

A new M3, 2000 and up, would own you if the driver is any good. Those cars pull so hard across the whole power band. They are very fun to drive. But most of the owners are real pains in the ***. Very picky and have lots of stupid complaints.
But congrats on the kill. the 330 is a nice running car as well. Just not in the same leagues as the new M3

I drove a 325i last week. It lacks off the line, that is where you had him Bill. Of the line, I bet MY car is faster. Once you get up there, those inline 6'* really motor quite nicely. If the Germans could design an "everymans" car to accel and pull like a Bonne, they be laughin.

Not to hate on your kill boss, it was fun to tour around in a Bimmer. If your car was bone stocker, would it have been as easy?

Now you gotta take on the 5 series, but you are right stay away from any BMW that has an M badge

Keep the Green Lantern goin Bill!!!

My brother had a black '94 M3, 260 hp. He had a couple mods. That was so sweet and fast, but some A$$HOLE pulled out in front of him and totalled it. He only had it for a few months. $10,000 in damage!

I forgot to dump the auto climate control and put it in performance shift, too. I don't remember that very often, but don't normally need to. Makes me wonder how badly I would have spanked him that way.

Does the climate control make a difference? Whenever I'm getting ready for a kill, I turn it off, but I don't know if it would matter.

It robs hp when the AC compressor clutch engages. How much, I don't know for certain, but on some cars I've owned you can actually FEEL it when it engages.

As far as performance shift goes, it speaks for itself. Shifting 500rpms farther up into the powerband has it'* rewards!
