Default Sea foam

I was told that putting sea foam in the oil 200 miles before an oil change will clean carbon out of the engine. However, they also said you're taking a risk doing it to an older engine. What do you think?

Apparently it works really well, but I'm no expert about it.

Well, here I go, gonna put the sea foam in. The guy who sold it to me said I should be careful and not drive it for more than 10 miles. He says I could spin a bearing. Any last thoughts before I put this stuff in tell me now. BTW... He said Marval mystery oil is the same as sea foam, only safer to use. Any thoughts on that?

i would rather use the stuff GM explicitly designed for this purpose. With GM top cleaner you don't have to worry about fouling your 02 sensor or other things.

Here is the thread on it.
