A SE saved!!!!
I just completed a UIM/LIM gasket repair. I did it in five hours, that'* including waiting a half hour and going to Napa on a parts run. The car is running perfectly.
And I didn't nick the coolant elbow like someone on here (hint hint). Stil have to do a oil change but not necessary
However, there'* one thing wrong that I think I know is the problem. I "dropped" my LIM and I broke the female connector of the coolant temp sensor so I had to get a new one (hence the parts run). I put it in and buttoned everything up. Now the temp gauge is wacko, it'* maxed out and stays maxed out.
But Stargazer has been saved from UIM hell!!!
Now she'* ready to go 250,000 miles!

great job on the fix. Sounds like things went well for the most part. Did you do it all by yourself, or did you have help? just wondering since i've been looking into getting a 96-99 SSE and realize that I might have to do it sometime.

Great job Cody.. it'* really not too bad is it?
Do that oil change.. it is very necessary when you remember about any small parts of gasket that are now washed down to the pan and need to be drained out, instead of sitting on the pick up tube.
