Default */C to N/A top swap.

I know its been discussed about doing top swaps from N/A to */C, but what would happen if a short block from a */C engine is used in a N/A environment?

It can be done in 2 ways. Swap heads and the lower intake along with the upper intake and your set. Another way is to remove the supercharger snout and rotors and put on a block off plate, and your done. Both will need some tuning. Both will be real low on horse power. Your talking about a 8.5:1 compression instead of a 9.5:1 compression on a NA engine.

Ya, it'* going to be a dog. But to answer your question, it can be done. And if you simply use a block off plate leaving the whole top in unchanged, very little tuning, if any would be needed. Injectors, throttle body, and heads would be the same.

It'* not me Dan. If you remember RJBLAZER having a 96 */C Buick Park Ave, he just recently bought a 97 Park Ave with the N/A. Just last week he developed a knock and decided to use his 96 lower block as a donor. Complete tear down of both engines.

2 days ago, we got the donor out, and put his 96 on his flat bed and took it to the scrap yard where they used big claws to lift it from his trailer. It was gruesome indeed.
Yesterday, we got 90% of the bad one torn down while in the car and the donor 80% torn down.

We noticed the trans connector looked different between the 96 and 97, so we opted to leave the 97 in place. And I just happened to be the reciepient of a HD trans! So that'* 2 trannies I have locked up in my garage. LOL.

As far as the leftover */C stuff? Who knows what he'* gonna do with it. I may end up buying it and using it as a top swap kit sometime down the road.
