An 85......good question. I think the oldest active 'car' here is an 87, but Deathrat is a GM parts guy, and I have a book on the way that covers all parts on all cars from 82 to present. One or the other of us could help you. The wiring is usually there. That'* GM'* style whether you have the option or not. It may be only a matter of adding the switch and the solonoid. Have you found any extra wiring near the trunk latch? It'll be on the bottom, not the trun lid. Take a peek in there while we dig.

Ok, I just got the book covering the 82-86. My library now covers 82-99, with more stuff coming. I need to know which model you have....sedan or station wagon, and I also need to know where your remote release is located. Also check for the extra wires by the latch mechanism.

Get that info to me, and I'll be able to give you part numbers!

Thanks Willren,
I went to the junkyard today and found one on a mid 80s Caprice.Same latch with a elec.soleniod on it.Mine is a sedan and there is no extra plugs or wires in the trunk
Havent checked by the glove box yet.I think that is where most of the buttons would be.I might have to wire it from scratch.Does the book show that these models had this option available? If so ,seems lioke the plugs should be there anyway
