tailights
wasn't sure where to post but........
my tailights are coming apart.....
well, not really, but the sealant {?} around them is and water gets in there and its just not sexy looking lol.....also looks like the previous owner tried to put some caulking around them to stop water/dirt from getting in there..{u can see it when u open the trunk} but it didn't work....so any ideas of how to get them off, probably clean the insides, and then seal them back so it u can see a black outline around them once again? instead of a clear/plastic one?
p.*.,,,,i looked @ willwren'* page where he blacked out his lights.......but i don't wanna do that...just want them to seal again

yeah, that'* the page i looked at first...but i was lookin' more towards exactly what to do....i'm guessing that i need to take the lights out b4 i paint? or can i leave them in? and exactly how longs does it take to dry? cuz my car is constantly on the move....cept for today....i've been nowhere....might juz go out later for the heck of it...and are the brighter lights necessary?

Brighter lamps aren't necessary. I never did it. Yes, you have to take the lights out, because you don't want that crap all over your car, and you have to clean them well, and allow them to dry while facing upwards. It'* an all-day event to remove, clean, prep, mask, spray, dry, and reassemble the lights.

It sounds like you have delamination as well as moisture in the tails. They do come apart, the main tails do. Some tabs and stiff caulk is all that holds them together. I have a theory that some clear well placed epoxy can help stop and maybe even reclaim some delamination, but I've never tried it.
