Default am I ok? {gas mixture}

it happens to the best of us....at least once in our lifetimes....but.....

...yeah, i ran outta gas today.... but i wasn't stranded on the highway...stopped at a friend'* house knowing I was running on fumes....turning the car off was my biggest mistake....didn't have enough gas to start the engiine again....

so anywayz, all they had around was 87 {regular} gas....so i reluctantly put like....a gallon...no more than 2 in....tired to start it....nothing.....so finally found an empty gas can.....went to the gas station....filled it with premium.....put about 4 gallons of that in....it started....went to the gas station {in my car this time} and filled it all the way up with premium...

so my question is....would the little bit of 87 gas that i put in possibly cause KR even though the majority is 93? juz to be safe for now i haven't gone WOT...and have tired to keep rpm'* under 3000...

I would say, no, it shouldn't cause KR, a gallon of Reg and like 17 of premium shouldn't hurt it. Heres what I would do, I would run it for a day or two, then top up once again with Premium.

i think it said in the owners manual that u may hear some knocking if u used a lower octane fuel then needed. but personally id just run it and just baby it untill u empty the tank out then fill back up with premium. maybe a fellow supercharged owner can give some info.

One gallon of 87 and 17 of 91 is something like 90.5 octane. I don't feel like calculating it. You're fine. And the 87 didn't keep you from starting. The car just needed time to re-prime, as you ran it completely dry.

Question....how the HELL do you run out of gas in an SSEi?

it was actually 87 & 93 ....lol :P so i guess i'm even more safe with the higher grade....i don't think we have 91 around here....

how do u run out of gas in an ssei? the same way u run outta gas in any other car.....juz drive till it stops....ignore the check gauges light and gas tank icon on ur HUD and everything lol....i swore i had a few more gallons left....lol

but believe me when i say it will be the last time that will happen...even though i was laughing through the whole experience...called a few of my friends up, let them know how retarded i was...lol

You don't have to worry about the 87...They say you MAY hear kncoking...Not guranteed all the time.....My neighbor ran 87 in his riv ever since the warranty expired and never had any problems.....Some people have accidentally topped my car off with 87 and even with my Pulley it doesn't knock....Runs just like 93 after a few miles.
