Anyone ever tried GM'* liquid decarbonizer?

Whats that?

GM'* Top Engine Cleaner (P/N #1050002 , available in a 15 oz can from you local GM dealership parts department and sells for about 5.75). Is a mixture of solvents, penetrating agents, and lubricating oil that is designed to do the following:

Remove gum and other deposits from the induction system of gasoline engines
Free sticking valves and sluggish compression rings
Purge excessive deposits from combustion chambers

Sounds like gumout. Or any other Injector/intake cleaner.

No thats what I thought at first too but then I read about the differences. One is that you pour this into your intake and let it soak overnight. Then the following day (actually 4-6hours by one how-to) when you start your engine you should see "plumes of black smoke comming out of your exhaust" which is supposed to be all of the carbon buildup. I've never seen a fuel additive do that, nor have I heard of any spray intake cleaner suggesting you flood your cylinder and let it soak. I'm interested in trying it though. There are warnings all over the sites I've seen about hydrolock but they say if done properly it isn't a problem. There are actually a couple different ways I've read so far to use it. One is soaking it the other is pouring it in while the engine is running.

Crap, anything about damaging catalytic converters? That'* alot of gunk going out the *** end! O2 sensors are right there, too.

It says to disconnect your o2 and cat, let the exhaust flow free till it finishes blowing out smoke.

Only way to do that is at the downpipe. You'll need new packing when you put it back together. It'* a little brillo pad donut. Hell, what ever happened to just squirting water into the intake while it idles? That'* worked for years!
