it may be time to say good bye to the love of my life!
It basically went down like this:
Had an oil leak, leaking about 2 quarts per 3k miles. IT was running perfect mind you. They replaced the oil sending unit seal, that wasnt it. then told me it was the timing cover seal. thats like 500 dollars labor!! so i said replace the timing chain, sprocket, and magnet. All together, $886.00 Got it home on Friday and it leaked antifreeze a little after driving it all weekend. JUst about a cup or 2. Drive it to the dealship on Tuesday to have them look at it and get there and all the coolant leakes on the ground. PHEW! they check it out and an O ring on one of the small hoses going into the manifold under the alternator area was broke. They broke it when they did the other work last Friday. They fixed that, Im driving away and as i get a mile down the road. POOF .no power to engine Car stalls. HAve them come tow me back i get a rental car and they call me later to tell me theres no fire. I have an MSD ignitiion about $560. NO one knows how to work on it. I told them to take the coil adapters off and bypass it. They started this the next morning, i drive in about 9:30 and its half apart. They dont have the right size screws to bolt down the coil pacs now that the adapters arent in there anymore. no one is doing anything. I ask ifthey have old cars in the back and suddenly a lightbulb comes on. they go get screws, bolt down the OEM coils with OEM iginition and it works. They fried my MSD when they rinsed the side of the motor off b/c of the antifreeze leaking! I needed to get to work so i just left. Came home that night and it started tapping about 3/4s of the way and got worse. really really worse. I checked when i get home and its got about 1 to 11/2 Qts of oil too much in there and its BANGINGby now. They towed it in again the next morinng, and said the mortor is fried!! wont tell me exactly whats wrong with it but that i need a new motor.
so, I take it in for an oil leak, spend 886.00 to get that fixed, they fry a 560.00 iginition and now my motor is blown? Where is the ****** justice? ("scuse my french kids)

ANYONE NEED SOME REALLY HOT BONNEVILLE PARTS?

Man, that was an awesome car you had! What are you doing with the car as a whole, selling it or just going to sell the parts from it?

That totally sucks. I agree with jwikoff99. Have them correct the problem that they caused.

If you don't/can't resolve the problem, I might be interested in the whole car.

you break it, you bought it.

i think they broke it. take it to another place, have them see how much it would cost to bring it back to its original condition <minus oil leak> and get the money out of the dealership for the cost of their repairs <if thats what you call them> and that of the other shops repairs too. dont take no for an answer, start off nice, dont leave court out of the question, document everything. have fun with it!

Sorry, i sent that right before i left work. Ugh, yah i dont know what to do yet. I talked to the owner of the place, a pontiac dealership thats been around since the 50s and he wants me to come in and see if he can give me a deal on a new car. Im going to meet with him tommorrow to see what he has to say. I am still contemplating a new engine, Series II OBDII, but thats going to take a lot longer then getting a new car. We'll see tomorrow.
For anyone that said they might want it, is that with the audio and wheels or would you want the factory?

It just pisses me off because the motor has thousands of dollars of new 'stuff' on it and now its trash? he said they would rather replace it then try to rebuild whats there. I dont know im not a grease monkey so i dont know what to say.

thanks for all the condolences...
