Default Silverstar Out again.

Just an FYI my OTHER silverstar headlight went out last night. Just replaced the one about 2 months ago. I guess when you have DRL'* the longevity isnt that great :(

I found that it'* all about touching that bulb. If you even think the cardboard came in contact with it, check...you should be able to dip it in rubbing alchol to clean it, then insert into the lense w/o touching and you should be ok.

Never really had a bulb burn out quicker due to DRL'*.

I have my car running for hours each day. So far I have only had to replace 1 bulb on the car. The second bulb has been on there for over a year now. I expect it to go anytime now. Usually the car runs for at least 3 hours a day and sometimes up to 7 hours a day.

Ya know..that makes me think..

My truck is 5 years old, 100K miles on it now. I've replaced both DRL'* and a turn signal bulb... all just once and recently.

Are the eBay bulbs you bought still available? What are they called? I am definitely considering an alternative to Silverstars based on the reliability issues some folks have had. For $20 a pop those suckers should last 10 years... people, keep your receipts! Don't Silverstars have a 1-year replacement warranty (yet I never hear of anyone taking advantage of that)?
