Bonneville going away???
Is there any truth to the rumor that the Bonneville is being discontinued soon?
(please say no, please say no, please say no)
Why would they discontinue their flagship?

There was discussion about this before. Apparently its being discontinued in Canada after the GXP in 04, but then Rat said something about it being re-introduced in the next few years. Last I heard the model will continue in the US

I hope you're right. I had heard that they were replacing it with the GTO in 2005...couldn't find any confirmation. God I hope not...I'd have to join the angry mob!

The GTO is this small little thing that looks like the Australian built Holden. The GTO is slated for entry next year I think. There have been mixed reactions to it both in general and on this board. It looks OK for a new little sports car, but it deviates far from the GTO classic.
I doubt very much that the flagship car in a lineup would be replaced with the GTO, but you never know

Sorry I brought up an old discussion (the inevitable fate of the newbie ).
Anyway, I hope you're all correct. The GTO would be a pretty sad substitute for my baby! And it would leave Pontiac without a full size sedan (I know they're not as popular as they once were, with the ubiquitous SUV, but pretty stupid if you ask me).
Thanks for the info...maybe I can relax now.

Correct me if I am wrong, because I am not all that familiar with newer vehicles, but aren't the 4door Grand prix'* nearly the same size and shape as our bonnies? They made our bonnies look so much like all the other pontiacs its almost disguisting.

Ya "something" like the father is one thing, but when you clone a grand-am/prix'* design and make it fit on a bonnevilles frame...thats another thing.
