Default What'* next for our beloved Bonnies?

The topic on the fate of the venerable 3.8 got me thinking... What'* next for the Bonneville we know and love? For what it'* worth, I think it'* time for a redesign on the Bonneville. Actually what would be perfect is some kind of bodystyle akin to the current model year GXP Bonneville (without that frigging body cladding like on the other ones!), as I think it'* stylistically very... uh... stylish, with SERIOUS V8 power (the Northstar is nice, but it only has 275 horses, and C&D said it only had "decent" power, and that was in the plus column! Am I the only one pissed off about that "distinction"?). and by serious, I mean "5.7L Corvette-sourced spine-ripping power Oh yeah, and the kicker: Rear-wheel drive, like it was, and like it always should've been Opinions? Rants? Raves? Get back to me

Hehe, just realized... like a four-door GTO But, hey, nothing wrong with that! The next Bonneville as a four-door, more luxurious, slightly less performance-orientated version of the GTO? Count me in!

I think the Bonneville should stay the course as the best Pontiac has to offer in comfort and performance. After all it is the big chief
I for one want a bigger trunk and more power, and bring back the big bench seats

Yea, but that front-wheel drive will only get the Bonnie so far nowadays... with all the new rear-wheel drive technology that'* come out and made it viable again, GM, I believe, would do the Bonnie right by putting the power to the rear meats... just my opinion

lol, bench seats and column shifters.. I think we all need to buy a '64 bonne, there was one for sale on ebay.. man was it gorgeous. I'd love to have a classic car.. I just wish I could afford to restore one. I think if I were to restore a car it would be either a 60'* or 70'* VW Beetle or Bus. I think that would be the ultimate sleeper, drop in a1776cc engine.. bam! thing will be peeling out everywhere.. or if I want some serious power.. go for the 19xxcc engine.. bam! that thing will be doing 0-60 is around 6-8 seconds . mmmbonnevillemmm, I don't like the styling cues, and the lines of the 00+ bonne'*.. personally I like the 87-91 the best.. maybe because I have one, or maybe because it just seems more like a bonne, than a newer car.. I guess I just don't like new cars.. I like old ones.. ones with style, ones with class, ones without a $30,000 price tag. I think the only real 92-99 bonne I love like mine, is "The Crow" [truewildman'* car] That is one sexy car. Oh well, I think Pontiac is going to do as they please, and go for the older market, because that'* where they've been going, which isn't bad, just it may not be the best for the hp issue..

Supposedly it'll turn to RWD around 08. I wouldn't mind a nice beefy LS2 under there, but it'* still by no means the best pontiac has to offer in performance, but thats good. I for one want to see more "car like" designs, something that looks like a car.

Don't they presently call that a Park Avenue?

Steve McQueen(of Bullitt fame) dropped in a Porche engine into one of his old Beetles back in the 60'*. Ya wanna talk about a Q Ship. That was the ultimate!

Pontiac forgot to install a GPS in the new Bonneville, GP get theres next year. I would prefere to see RWD and a torque management similar to Chyrsler but that ain't going to happend. All wheel drive would be nice with the 3800 series III supercharge engine. A two door convertible sounds awesome with the NorthStar.

Don't mine me I am a dreamer.
