Default Replacing 4x6s

I'm helping a friend install speakers in his 93 Bonevvile and we can't figure out how to remove the 4x6s. Does the whole door panel have to come off and if so how do I get it off? What has to be removed to get to them and replace them? Thanks for anyhelp.

The speaker panels in the doors come off with screws, but if you need to pull the whole skin, find a hidden screw on the upper part of the door handle under the little piece of plastic trim. Rear deck speakers are removed from under the deck lid.

We did the rear 6x9s. We didn't remove it from under the deck lid, jut removed the grill and, uplugged the wires from the trunk and then popped out the speaker, mount as a whole and took the speaker off. Then reinstalled the new ones. The speaker panels on the doors your talking about., is it the whole thing where the pocket is on the door panel? I only saw a few nuts on the lowe part of that. Am I missing some?

If you dig deeper than the pocket, you have to find 3 hidden screws. 2 behind the door clearance light, one under the trim that holds the mirror adjustment. I'd have to check to be sure, but almost positive.

most se bonnes had the 4x6s but I believe that you can fit 5.25 speakers in place of the 4x6s with little to no difficulty. Try it out with a junk 5.25, you'll be happy you did if it fits. They are much better than 4x6s.
