How does she run (if at all?). I hate to be the doomsayer, but being an SE (like mine) you gotta consider the UIM.

it'* tough to say how she runs right now, there is a bit of hesitation and knocking, but that could be from the improper exhaust flow. It'* hard to tell from "sound" because the exhaust is so loud lol
I drove it around the block, and the wheel bearing is shot, but I should be working on the mechanical stuff next week.

97' isn't that old. Was it in a flood or did/ does it have a salvage title? How many miles are on it? Usually the exaust on these cars last a long time so that car must have been through hell and back.

you are absolutely correct, 1997 isn't old.....but then again, I have seen cars 4 years old rott out completely due to lack of owner attention and abuse. the car I aquired has no salvage title and as far as I can tell from it'* history had never been in an accident. The ehxaust pipe and manifolds and cat are fine, it'* just the muffler is completely shot. As for the rough idle, well, there are a few things:
1) could be bad plugs, the wires themselves look original
2) The rad fluid is green, which to me means someone ignored the dexcool (that will be drained)
3) The oil is black, that will be changing
4) Original motor has 303,000KMS. Not unheard of for most 3.8L'*
