Probable New Owner
Looks like I'm trading in my '97 Z28 w/383 stroker, heads/cam, headers, etc. for an '02 SSEi ,black, loaded, 9500mi. My car is so much fun but too damn obnoxious. My wife won't even ride in it :P
I must be getting old.
Had a '95 LSS n/a for awhile. Always liked the Bonny, but couldn't afford an SSEi.
Looks like a very cool site. I don't know any people locally with modded Bonnevilles, but do know some GTP'*. Look forward to making the car a real sleeper.
My wife had to make one concession for me to buy this car instead of an '02 WS6.... I get to buy something with chrome bumpers(i.e. 64 Impala SS 409)

Have a look around in Mech and Maint 2000+, Forced Induction and Performance for that "sleeper" desire you want. Good to have you here. Always nice to add another 2K+ model to the fray.
You'll love it

Gold Star Swarm!
Welcome to the club. I personally think any of the above-mentioned cars are nice. It is nice to have something practical yet quick--and something with a real bumper for those impractical, quick days.
Look out for Bill (Wren), he'll give you all sorts of ideas on what to do with your SSEi

Thanks for the warm welcome. I look forward to spending a lot of time on these forums.
The more I look into this car and drive it, the more I like it. I have a feeling I'm going to have a hard time peeling my wife'* fingers off the steering wheel though . I've been trying to get her to trade her Intrigue for the SSEi, but no luck yet.

I'm trying to get rid of the Intrigue. Used car market is so soft, she lost the $6k in equity she put into it.
I have to unburden myself right now Before I remembered the SSEi, I was looking at used beemers (00 328ci). I must preface this by saying that I have never in my life owned a foreign car and have driven very few. I wanted to move up to something alittle more comfortable ( read- wifely compromise) and found the BMW to be a decent car. What didn't sit well was the fact that the cars in my price range had 33k mi. and they got $95/hr for labor.
I took my wife to test drive an '02 WS6 to show her that it didn't compare to my beast of a Z. After the test drive, I spotted the SSEi and remembered that I'd always wanted one but couldn't afford one. So, next thing I knew we were on a test drive of the Bonne. We both loved the car. It really does have the best of all worlds. Wed. night I'm planning on making the numbers work.
I've test driven an '03 and an '04 GTP and they, although very nice cars, didn't compare to what the SSEi offers.
After being on the fence about this purchase (wanted another fbod), I've decided that this would definitely be the right move.
