I just noticed this feature yesterday on my wife'* GA. It beeps the first push, I suppose to remind you that your keys might possibly be in the car, then locks on the second. She hasn't complained about it, so I bet she hasn't even used the button. And I hadn't previously heard of it on a Bonneville. It would annoy me if it were on mine, I know that.

Are y'all talking about when the door is open? On my 98, this is the delayed locking fature. Hit the button on your way out, it beeps, and then about 3 seconds after you close the door it locks itself.

yea, its annoying alright

if i had a keyless entry system i wouldnt care

it also annoys me that the doors unlock after you shut the engine off. i like how my mothers impala will unlock when you shift into park.

The auto-lock/unlock can be turned off - The instructions are in the owners manual, or I can PM them to you. I hate that feature too. I think I'm old enough to know if I want my doors locked or not

no, i like it. i just would prefer if it would unlock when i shift into park, like our impala.

i turn off my car and open the door simotaneously, so i sometimes prevent the door from unlocking. then i have to push the button. can you believe all that effort? its insane

im a picky summabish

How do you enable that? My 99 doesn't do that. If you hit the button on the door it locks instantly.

Check out your owners manual. I think it'* under the "Remote Keyless Entry" section.

I thought I had my PDF owners manual on this machine, but I can't find it
