This is where the trouble starts. Let me clarify this:

BS claims will invite harassment. You make a BS claim, you're partially to blame.

Harassment of a BS claim won't be tolerated here either, but you MAY ask a person how they reached that level of performance. POSITIVE, not negative.

This thread may continue unless it degrades.

hey 92 trofeo, i looked it up.
86 3.8, 140hp 190tq, 0-60 "shade under 12"
87 150hp, 11'*
88-90 165hp 210tq, 0-60 11
91 170hp 220tq 0-60 high 9'* to 10.3

92 ssei, PONTIAC claims a 8.7, mags range from 7.5 to 9.0 (probably a traction problems for the higher ones)

must have a factory freak there unique, your faster than the newer gen supercharged, even the L67'*

1992 trofeo- http://encyclopedia.classicoldsmobil...ronado/92.html
"Horsepower @ RPM 170 @ 4800
Torque @ RPM 220 @ 3200"

1987 toronado - http://encyclopedia.classicoldsmobil...ronado/92.html
"Horsepower @ RPM 150 @ 4400
Torque @ RPM 200 @ 2000"

I dont drive the 87 any more.. little on see it.. I hid it out back.. maybe it will be worth somthing in 20years
but its kinda neat to see where each engine makes there power...

Its also kinda neat how my new 3/4ton gets the same 'rated' 0-60 as a 92 ssei.. lol... Oh well I have torque managment...

hey, im just providing a "baseline"

its funny though, 92 trofeo, that they charged 29k for a loaded tope of the line 89 trofeo, now people bit** about 35k for a GTO, i know technology advances, but money depreciates. cars arn't as outrageous as they used to be, but people will always complain. my 89 was a good car, no doubt, but even in 89, how'd they get away charging that much? lol

sorry to jack the thread! my girl used to have a 96 sunfire 2.2 convertable....thats kinda on topic

A 1990 Grand Prix McLaren/ASC Turbo had a sticker of over $30k, IN 1990! And to think, we have two of them! They are nice cars, but definately not $30,000 worth of car nowadays. It makes you think about how good of a deal a brand new SSEi is. It really is a steal at $35k.

i will have my torque..........definatly getting a l67 for the next ride, but too many choices! me and jim have to stick together

DOHC'* rule the highway!!!!!!!!

custom, how did you test it? the 88'* should be in the 10'*. gtech'* arn't the most accurate, and tracks can't give you a 0-60. i gteched mine a few times, did the stop watch a few times always somewhere in the 10'*

Umm.......sunfires depending on the year arent that slow.........

My cousin has no pipes, right after the cat a cherry bomb, and a K&N conical filter, and a 5 speed stick. He runs low 7'* 0-60. ?? Its 1997 Sunfire with a 2001 2.4L engine, he blew his first one

And as for your car Jim, exactly like Mike said. If your going to race do it on the highway, and drop it from 100 km/h. You can take some stock GTP'* from 120 km/h+

Yeah...only when I have to pass tho.

IF I was to go off the line...3rd, TC off, Performance shift on...I dont go anywhere for a bit, my tires just spin and smoke...

Then it lurches.

But I digress....it doesn't strike me a torque monster, even tho stock its got 260 ft/lbs
