sounds like a Z-24 cavelier, Corsica/Beretta. 88 Grand Prix. Anything with a 2.8 liter engine. When accelerating, you can here the sound coming out the tailpipe and our 3.8 sc sounds like the 2.8'*

The type of intake really contributes to exhaust note. The fact that there is mechanical parts on the intake side (supercharger) makes it very different than an NA car with same exhaust and intake.

Oh boy. Its haard to explain the sound online. Without WOT, the cars do sound alike. I need a digital camera with sound for this one. Kenn, if your looking at this, can I borrow yours so I cangive a better example?

I know what you're saying. Its not just the */Ced ones either, my car sounds that way too. One time I was going through a tunnel and thought I heard a Beretta w/ pipes, took my foot off the gas , looked around saw nobody, gave it a little gas and the sound returned. It just sounds way different on the inside.

Most series II sound like *** IMO. They have bad exh manifolds compared to Series 1.

My car doesn't sound like like a 2.8, it sounds like more of a v8 then our 5.7L Yukon.

*/C will change the engine from low roar to whiney.

I think I understand what you are saying ssesc93, but I disagree.
I think the normal exhaust system sounds ok for the cars, I don't think they sound like the Z24 or smaller engines.

As for what I prefer....

I like the custom exhaust on my 91... it sounds like a big V8... roar....
And I'm trying to keep the 97 quiet (w/o compromising performance), because I like the whoose/whine I get from her...
