Is GM killing Pontiac?
or is it just an off-year for their line? I have been reading story after story on Buick-Saturn-Cadillac as the auto shows heat up but nearly nothing on Pontiac. And by the way if I have hear one more time how the Saturn Aura is "the perfect car"...
and why is GM pumping up Buick and not Pontiac? The Sunfly is replaced by a Cobalt clone and we're losing the GP, GTO and lost our dear Bonnie. Not good omens...
I've read there might be a G8 in the works, but there is a real product gap in Pontiac'* upper end. Anyone know anything about GM'* plan for Pontiac?

Keep in mind that they just refreshed part of their lineup, with the G6 and the Solstice. All signs point to 2008 as the next big introduction. I really don't think there'* much to be concerned about as far as Pontiac disappearing, but if you look at the lineup with a critical (and unbiased) eye, you will see that it'* not too likely that there will be a Bonneville in the near future.
They've upsized the G6 so that it fills a small/mid-size nich pretty well and they've upsized the GP in the same manner. I believe (and certainly could be wrong) that the buick Lucerne is intended as the "comfortable" sedan in GM'* lineup. They are trying pretty hard not to duplicate too many sectors between platforms. There are just not enough sales to go around.

I stress RELIABLE info. This source has never let us down before.
A good solid RWD Pontiac might keep me in the family. I'll just tear off the G8 badges and put on Bonneville ones!

I'll get off-topic a minute to short-rant that I really, really, rah-HEALLY prefer names with meaning over the copycat alphanumeric badging they've now chosen.
It'* not the names that are hurting sales, folks....it'* the watered down styling and failure to create excitement that'* hurting you!!!!
Phew...that felt good...
Now, where were we?

I don't tihnk pontiac is in any trouble, the solstice just dethroned the mazda miata as america'* best selling sports car which the miata held sinc eit'* introduction, and as far as i know the G6 is selling well
