Default Dead Acura

There'* a hot little Acura in town that has tried to get me to race him before. Every time he has challenged me I've had my wife and son in the car so I drove cautiously.

...not today...

My wife saw him and said "go for it". I had the tank full, two passengers, all the stuff you carry to take care of an 18 month old, and the stock pulley size on the supercharger. I decided to try anyway. We took off at the green, he slipped back from the start to about the 1/8 mile point. From there he hung with me but a full car length back.

Good kill man .. even with the weight disadvantage, nothing beats raw power.. well.. except the wife LOL.. I have only seen one Integra that deserves recognition.. buddy did a lot of work to it.. 13.6 in 1/4 mile.. supercharged Type R. Stock looking..
which pulley do you use other than the stock ?? Have you went lower than 3.4 before? and what happened...

Good kill again...

I have gone below 3.4. I run the 3.0 occasionally. The stock L-67 will handle up to 15 LB of boost. The 3.0 pushes 14.9 lbs of boost at 5400 RPM on the 2001 L-67 Bonneville as long as all other pulleys are the stock size. To avoid knock I run 104+ octane booster with Conoco 93 or Sunoco 100. While running the 3.4 I fill the tank with 93 and 104+ then drive the tank down to get the computer in sinc. I install the 3.0 and push the spark back to 38 degrees at 5400 rpm. I let the computer handle the curve. I'm waiting for cooler weather to go back to the track to see how the mods have effected my 1/4 mile time. If the tank is low enough at the track I drop in a couple of gallons of Sunoco 100.

So what would you recommend running for a basically stock l67 for the pulley size?? My Bonnie is also going to be a regular get me around car. Could I run the 3.0'* without any adverse effect for daily commuting ??

No. Do not run the 3.0 for daily commuting. The additional strain will hurt your ride. For daily driving use no smaller than the 3.4. Also, change your SC oil more often if you are doing a lot of under size pulley driving. Oil is cheap, SCs are expensive. Keep your Trani cool and drop your thermostat to 180 to help offset the extra heat generation due to the smaller pulley size. If you don't have the option of a custom EEPROM setup you might want to install a SLP air temp module to help reduce spark knock. The key to running the 3.0 effectively is octane and time. Follow my formula listed earlier and you should see a noticable improvement. Replace the pulley with one 3.4 or larger before you return to regular street driving. BTW, Gatorback V-belts help reduce pulley slippage due to the smaller pulley size.

I guess I'll go with the 3.4 pulley then... How do I drain the */C oil?? I know there'* the bolt on the top front that you use for checking and filling up the oil, but is there a drain bolt, or do I have to syphane the oil out? I also heard to use 5w30 Mobil 1 synthetic as */C oil ( since it'* cheaper and does the same job ).

It sounds like you're going to install a Magnusen nose drive. For about the same amount of money you can purchase a Dial-ur-Boost system from South Florida Pulley Headquarters and have the convenience of swapping pulleys in about ten minutes. I chose their system because it allowed me to install it without removing/replacing the nose drive and it looks cool as well as performs great. You'll want to use Goodyear Gatorback belts in any case. As Terry about a package deal. He cut quite a bit off the price and put together the exact package I wanted. He also saved me a lot in shipping costs by shipping it all at one time rather than shipping as each part was manufactured.

If you find you need to change the SC oil anyway here'* an easy fix. Go to the closest animal vet. Buy a huge horse syringe then stop by a hardware store and buy some clear plastic hose to fit on the end of the syringe. Remove the plug you mentioned and suck out the oil.
