Default I had a little fun at "Ricerparts-R-Us"

Was planning to clean my TB and EGR so I pulled up to parts counter to get a couple gaskets. Not in stock. Figures. Ordered the gaskets and paid for them but I didn't notice the rediculous price of $12.99 on the EGR gasket. Another poster on the board mentioned how high they are at A Z so I checked my receipt when I went to pick them up today. I asked the manager to recheck part number and he said, "yes, that'* the price," so I pull out cell phone and call across the street to NAPA and the same Felpro part number is $2.49. The best part was while I'm standing there he answers the phone with a happy "Hello, Auto Zone. Low Price Guarantee!!" and I'm holding this gold plated 5 times overpriced gasket in my hand. He finanlly figured out how to refund the difference on a gift card so I left happy.

Then He would only refund to a gift card. Why not cash.

It increases the chance the money will be spent back at his store. What they are hoping is that with your $10.50 credit you will come in needing a "big" part. So you spend say $75, less your $10.50, and they don't really lose anything in the end, just eats into profits a bit.

Devious basta*ds...

Ya, cash would certainly be my first choice but hey, I was in a good mood and the man was trying take care of me.

Now if he would have said, "That'* the price. You bought. You own it" we would have had a problem.
