Default where does pontiac fit in the GM lineup?

I mean, for the past 8 or 9 years pontiacs suffered a lot of dropped projects; At the same time we also have had a couple of new additions but it seems more along the chopping block side.

Besides Olds totally dropping of the GM roster I'd say Pontiac'* be hit pretty hard imo, I wonder where pontiac fits in the GM line up of things compared to other GM makes?

If I were to say it wouldn't be near the top We have Cadillac it'* doing well as always, buick has lost a few and gained, I don't see them going anytime soon, Chevy pfft! I won't even, Saturn I dunno, Hummer got rid of the H2, the newer model looks pretty good, Saab I doubt it, and of course GMC.

vaugely knowing cars I'd classify GM'* line up as follows

Cadillac
Saab
Buick
Hummer
Chevrolet
GMC
Pontiac
Saturn

how I'd say the line up is if it'* my preference

Cadillac
Buick
Chevrolet
Pontiac
GMC
Saab
Hummer
Saturn

Did I miss anything, BTW I though only Canada was getting that Pontiac that'* just really a Chevy Cobalt?

Pontiac has been re-born and GM made a firm comittment to it.

All Pontiac models will be RWD within the next three years.

I'm waiting for Oldsmobile to return with a 455 Cutlass- keep dreaming Prescott. But in all seriousness i'm waiting for Pontiac to build a G8 GXP with the 400hp LS2 with the 6 speed auto trans from the STS-V. It will happen i'm very hopefull.

Which for me, is unfortunate. Been there, done that in the winter...won't do it again.

Is this a real, confimred thing. I have not heard that. I, too am not fond of rear wheel drive in the winter. But, it'* kind of cool that they are dong that in a way. Something different.

you forgot opel, vaxhaul, izuzu and holden

aside from that i don't think you give saturn enough or any credit for what it'* done.
aside from creating an entirly new line of reliable, and good looking cars, that are hands down the easiest things to work on in the world, they are responsible for the design of several other cars.

the cobalt: it was a saturn first
the solstice: the saturn sky has been in the design stage since 1995
the cutlass supreme SL: originally the saturn SL3

saturn was also the platform for a nice overseas import, the opel vectra featuring the all new ecotec (a joint saturn/opel first) or the naturaly asperated version of the saab 3.0 Dohc v-6.

if it were up to me i would order GM like this.

Saturn
Pontiac
Chevrolet/GMC
Opel/Vauxhal
Buick
Holden
Cadallac
Hummer
