Default Bonneville National Meets

It now looks like we're going to probably have at least 2 simultaneous meets, the Rockford (central) meet, and a West Coast meet. From this day forward, these 2 meets will be known as "Central" and "West" to prevent confusion.

My proposal is to start a forum in the Gatherings section for these two meets for the purpose of planning, and an "East" meet if that materializes. The coordinators would moderate this forum. As of now, it would be Allmachtige for Central and PontiacDad for West.

All those in favor, or anyone with any better ideas?

The problem for the Westies is that Rockford Illinois is too far. I'd have to plan for a week and a half to make the trip. Grueling. The guys in So. Cal and the guys in BC are even worse off. Most of us wouldn't have made the Rockford gathering anyway. This way, we have a better chance of getting people together.

I'm somewhat upset by this. Bonniefest is intended to be a massive collective event...not a meet, meaning it is not over a weekend but rather at least 4 days (Thurs-Sun). This includes T-shirts, maps of places to go during free time, a main event each day including going to Byron Dragway and having at least 2 lanes for DEDICATED bracket racing, and one day set aside for a picnic/pictures. Also I gave notice of this event many months back in hopes that people would set aside some time during the summer and plan ahead.

Let me know here and now why you won't be able to make it to Rockford, IL in July....I was unaware of any conflicts.

I'm sorry if I did not get across the enormous amplitude of BonnieFest 2004 before, hopefully now I have and we can come to a resolution that makes everyone happy.

I always tried to put up some type of reminder so that wouldn't die. I was trying to plan a nice hotel to stay for a cheap price which was the StudioPlus suites. I will make this with no doubt at all. I am pretty sure the ILL-State bonnie members will be here too!!!

2500 miles for me was just too far, with a familly of 4 the drive would take 4 days one way. Your location blends well with the central and eastern locals, just a bit too far for us westerners.
Most of the listed membership is in your area within 500 miles or so. We expect a smaller turnout, I pm'd 100 members and hope to have at least 50 for the west coast meet.

I think there is an opportunity to work together to make both events a success and provide a venue for all members to meet.

Not to get too off topic but we are having a spring meet in the toronto area too. We are hoping to make it a precursor to Bonniefest. I've seen video and stuff from Kyle when he stayed with berretta fest, and DAMN that was a lot of berettas. They had track time, and it looked a lot like what i want to do in july.

I think we should still call the Rockford one "Bonniefest".

For Jim and I'* GTA meet we are trying to get plenty of people involved along the way. I think if Kyle can help plan with someone, and get dates and all set down, so it'* not all on him, and it'* not all he wants to do (more input = better meet) we could have plans done by new years.

I'll be rolling out posts for the Spring meet this week. Stay tuned!

For me, it'* the West meet or nothing. Rockford is too far, so I wouldn't have been there anyway (most likely). I can't take almost 2 weeks off from work to make the trip, and the expense associated with the distance is too great as well.

I didn't plan this West meet, it was the brainchild of a member in BC who is even farther than me. The fact that it'* tentatively planned for my hometown has nothing to do with my existence, but rather because it seems to be the logical midway point between BC and LA.

The Rockford meet is just too far for most of us over here.
