Well there is a bonneville sle 2001 and it has 160,000 miles is this an issue in considering this buy?

It depends on what matters to you. I personally would try to find a lower mileage car within the same budget, but I'd first take into consideration how well it was taken care of by checking it over very carefully, and of course test-driving it. I'd definitely check the coolant reservoir to see if it'* full, if the coolant is clean or dirty. The UIM is an issue on the NA motor, so if it wasn't replaced at 160,000 miles I'd probably be looking to do that soon. The LIM gaksets would be a good idea to change soon too. The transmission would also be a concern to me. I'd check the fluid color/smell, and level, after it'* at full operating temperature, and make sure the transmission is shifting and working as it should.

If you don't drive a lot it and it'* in good shape it may be a good buy for you. If price is an issue just do a lot of research on cars in the area and find the best one within your price range.

When I was looking at a 2000+ I found at least 20 cars. I had members check them out in Mass, NY, and NH. I was hoping to get one with 70,000 miles or less, but most were $14,000+. I didn't want to have transmission issues and I knew (at the time) I drove 25,000 miles a year and didn't want to be at 200,000 miles in a couple years.

Believe it or not, I eventually got the one with the HIGHEST miles (108,000), and it was in amazing condition, much better that some with 60,000 miles. The coolant tank was even crystal clean. It was also a one-owner car which is a plus. The best part...it was only $8800.

It'* all in how the car was taken care of. High miles doesn't necessarily mean it'* a bad car. You just have to be careful when looking over each car. Look at a few cars before making a decision.
