Default Spring Break Project

Well, it'* spring break for me, and once again, I'm stuck at home because of lack of funds to go anywhere worthwhile. But I figure since I'm home, I can have a project to keep me occupied. So I decided to repaint my strut bar since it'* getting pretty ugly looking. The question is, should I repaint it the original black, or colormatch it to my car color. I figure both would look good, but I simply can't decide which. Let me know what you think I should pick, or suggestions on other choices I've overlooked.

P.*.: Is taking off the strut bar simply removing the 6-8 bolts on the strut towers, or are there tricks needed to get that mother off?

the bar comes off with the four bolts you can see. As for the brackets, i havent taken them out ever. I had the strut bar out to change the plugs. It gave me more room to work.

yup the strut baralong with the brackets comes off with 4 10mm bolts, it is easier to remove the brackets and the bar

I painted mine a black metallic flake, that is what i would do

they look nice red, but you should paint yer engine cover while yer at it and then get a good high quality black paint pen from a hobby shop and color the letters back in black.....looks a little like this only in yer application slightly less supercharged

Don't even lean on it as much as possible...

Isn't the main body basically the same on the 87-91 cars though? Or did they weaken it, and put in the STB?

Well, I thank you guys for the heads up on moving the car (although i had no plans of doing that in the first place ). Unfortuntely i could not get to the little project today, and tomorrow isn't looking good either. Looks like Thursday is the day of reckoning. I'll post some pics of the before and after if i can.

P.*., I've decided to go with a good and basic black. Subtle, yet refined.
