Default non-working highbeams

I don't know where else to put this so I figured general chat would be as good of a place as any other. anyway, on the riv (I know, not a bonnie) it uses the High-beams as the DRL'*. Both of the high beam bulbs will light up when the DRL'* are on, but at night when you have the high beams on, only the driver'* side will work.. THe passenger side bulb appears burned out, but it can't be if it turns on with the DRL'*. This has me REALLY confused. Also, when you would unlock the doors with the keyless entry the high beams would flash, now only the parking lights do, not the high beams. THis all started happening the same day. Also, my power mirrors stopped working at the same time too but started working again suddenly. anybody know why the passenger side highbeam won't work at night, but works with the DRL'*? I have no idea what could be wrong with it. :(

good ideas. I checked fuses, there are two fuses in the fuse panel, one labeled "LH ext lghts" and one "RH ext lghts" Both of these fuses were fine.. Also, they're 9005 bulbs, I don't think those have dual filaments. so far I'm blaming the gnomes.

...don't forget about squirrels...last summer, there was some sort of rodent, we think a squirrel, that was getting into our engine compartments and chewing on wires, and it got to be a big problem. I don't know how my friend'* car was even running. The varment had literally destroyed like 80% of the electrical and vacuum lines of his Geo. It only chewed the wires off one of my injectors.
