Overdrive
Is it true that overdrive was dicontinued in the 96 Bonneville'*? A club member has an SE and I saw OD, D, 2, 1 on his shifter on the floor. My '97 has D, 3, 2, 1 on it. Just wondering if that is correct.

It is just a different way of labeling the gears. You have the same style of transmission as all the others. If you have a total of four speeds, the fourth is overdrive.

PF, there were no major changes in the transaxles from 87 through 03. Just slight upgrades....beefin' 'em up. They're all 4 speed autos. J'* right...just a different way of labelling them to confuse all of us. That would have surprised me, too if I'd seen it.

Just a though. I'm sure others can either confirm or deny this possibility.

Yeah i just had to bring that up because I know I hear 4-spped auto when I hear 5 gears changing. Has anyne drove the widetrack Grand Prix yet? If you hadn't notice they of coarse have a 4-speed as well and I hear 5 gears but when it goes from 3rd to 4th gear, 3rd is like cut off really fast and goes to 4th right away all in normal driving and I rentad 2 of them and my aunt has one also. I thought one the trans was messed up but the car just came out and the other one as. All did the same thing and its strange that it shift so fast like that and this is between 32-38 MPH/51-58 KM/H
