Do you have the granny gears on your 04? If you don't, then I wouldn't complain about not having a SSEi but if you do have granny gears, then I would complain a lot..

Granny gears are geared towards max mpg but the good gears are half and half (meaning half good mpg and half good performance)
Granny gears typically is 2.84 and the good gears is 3.05/3.06 (depending on years) You should be able to find out which gears you have by looking at your RPO codes on the spare tire cover. If you have F83, you got the good one but if you have FQ3 or F17, you got the granny gears
