i took my car out for a little drive after installing the new 180 tstat and the oil pressure gauge is going pretty high when i press the gas like more than normal....when im idleing it sits at 40 in the middle and then when i press the gas a little it goes up to in between 40 and 120 and when i floor it it goes to like 120, this cant be good...any ideas?

Mine was doing the same thing then I had the engine checked for oil leaks they found some and that I had a blown intake manifold gasket. Now I don't recall any coolant leakage via a puddle or smell and I don't remember the reservoir ever going low. But after they replaced it the oil gauge stopped jumping all over.
The oil leaks came from the oil pan gasket and valve cover gasket, I don't think this affected the gauge since I've not seen it affect the oil pressure gauge in the past with other cars except to fall to 0 when all the oil is gone.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

ok so i went out tonight and on the way out it wasnt doing it at first and then it started doing it so i got a bit more exact and when i was stopped and then floored it, it would jump up to 120 and bounce back down when it shifted....and the rest of the time it seemd normal....on the way home however it was normal the whole time so i dunno its really weird
