Unhappy It'* all over...

Unbelievable.

Last night after returning from Indy, (about 1.5 hour drive) I parked the car and went inside. This morning I go out to the car and it won't start. I pop the hood and couldn't believe what I saw. The main engine harness was half melted and a couple of the wires I ran for the ignition had grounded out at some point and melted.

The worse part, it took the Megasquirt down with it. The 3 spark output circuits I built have blown caps. When I plugged the megasquirt into the stim (digital car) I got no response from the processor.

I don't know what to do. I don't have the money to build another megasquirt. I might just scrap this car....

Haha, I think I found the short.

Where I stuffed the megasquirt inside the stock ECM case. The 12V constant shorted out on the 2nd sensor ground on the Megasquirt harness. It blew the fuse on the megasquirt but it managed to short out my coils, crank sensor, cam sensor and throttle position sensor. That explains why the caps on the spark output circuits blew. Where the short was, it got so hot that it melted the wire clean through. Which is probably a good thing, cause if that wire didn't break, it would've kept shorting out until the battery died.

Pics, or it didn't happen.

I wish it were a joke. I just got off the phone with the wife. Since it looks like we'll get approved for the car loan, she doesn't want to keep the car.

I found the camcorder, but not the camera. I guess I can grab a vid for all you doubters.

getting another car gives you the freedom to do what you want with the gp, even if it takes years youll be sorry down the road if you put all that work into just to get rid of it now.

God dammit Jon.

Sell it to me for scrap value. I'll store it somewhere until you have the cash to buy it back from me.

I absolutely MUST have someone who has a LX9'd car within 6 hours that can show me what the **** to do.

Seriously though, don't give up.
