As of tomorrow, I will be the owner of a 2002 SSEi. Just looking for some info on common things to watch for, sources for mods and things like that. Thanks in advance

Thank you sir.
I had a 11.3 sec 2003 Cobra until this nice lady total'd it for me 2 weeks after I paid it off. Had the car 11 months.
I say that to say I am familiar with the mods of a */c engine.
Here are a couple of quick questions.
1. Can these cars be tuned (ie plug in tuner) or do they need a PCM Flash?
2. What are some initial things to do that are specific to these cars?
3. What is a good source of supply for things like, pulleys, CAIs, belts etc?
Thanks

To tune my car I use HP tuner on my lap top, several others use the same and it works real well.
First things most people do is change the stock 195* thermostat for a 180*, install a FWI or CAI, and change the supercharger pulley for a small one.
INTENSE-Racing.com - G8, Grand Prix, Bonneville, Regal, L67 3800 Supercharged Performance Products. and ZZPerformance are the main places to get engine mods for these cars.
With a little work you can get this car in to the 14s, a bit more internal work and you can get in to the 13s. If you go even further you can push in to the 12s. To go lower then that is possible but will take a fair amount of work. There are some in the 10s.

Thanks danthers, is it adviseable to go to a colder range of spark plug with the smaller pulley? Will the PCM compensate enough fuel for the extra boost of a smaller pulley or is a retune a must?
Oh yeah. One other thing. Will most of the mods of the GP GTP work in the SSEi or are there some that will not. I want to keep the car reliable and driveable, just a little extra humph, if ya know what I mean.

Ya, I would suggest 1 or 2 ranges colder. No retune is needed with a smaller pulley. Unless you have a scan gauge I would suggest not going smaller then a 3.5" pulley. To go to that size you will need to get PEMs or headers. Otherwise you will over boost and get KR, and that can damage your engine.

Here is the answer to your question. I bought the Cobra on 08/16/03, paid it off in early July 2004. On July 24th, 2004 a nice lady total'd it for me. As for the slip, I don't have it any more.
The second part or your question is that my fiance has 3 small children so the 2 door wasn't a very good option. I was very close to buying a 2009 Charger SRT8, but got an awesome deal on the bonneville.

One more thing, the 11.3 run was by a friend of mine who owns a 10 sec foxbody and knows how to drive. The best I ever got out of the Cobra was a 12.01.
