Default SOOOO pissed!.!.!.

about 4 hours ago, I was finally getting my upper back on, all lined up, gasket surfaces clean, etc etc. Well I start bolting it down. First 2 bolts the torqure wrench clicks for 15N*M (11ft-lbs) then I get to the 3rd, doesn't click, pull a little bit more to see if it will click...POP... UIM cracks. ()&*&(^*(#$&*(&@#_@# So now I have a shitty torque wrench which I spent 100 on earlier this week, a cracked UIM, and little hope of getting the car driveable so that my parents can have my brakes fixed before I come home for X-mas...

son of a b*(&#&@$

this stuff never goes my way. (on top of all that my oil pan still leaks...)

I'm wondering if its the oil filter adapter to timming chain cover gasket, or the Timming cover gasket its self... Just a couple more possibilities for you... Hard to be certain from afar tho..

Sorry to hear about the intake tho... When I installed mine I did it in a random pattern and used a Nut driver... I wanted to make sure it wasn't much more than hand tight... as it said overtightening could crack the Upper intake...

Was the intake you had a Dorman?
i guess it could be the timing chain cover...or the oil filer adapter.

I followed the FSM pattern.

Yeah it was a dorman(gmparts diect), It wasn't new for this week, but the gasket was new.

If you clean your corners well you can still use the gaskets.
