Default Poll! Car security!

Since the Rat proclaimed this national poll month, I thought I'd start ANOTHER! Something I thought about after seeing 'the club' attached to JSeabert'* Mom'* van.

Let'* see how our Bonnevilles hold up to the criminal element!

My big boxer keeps an eye on mine and JSeabert'* cars, cuz he lives in the front yard. I personally trust the factory security and VATS, but it won't stop the 5% of true professionals......nothing will.

Just got my factory alarm system, as far as I know it'* not been broken into. Broken, but not broken into. lol I guess I don't see the point of going to the trouble/expense of an aftermarket system, being as if someone wants it bad enough, they'll find a way to steal it.
A big boxer has to be a great theft deterrant. We used to have a boxer and she was really pretty grumpy with people who wandered into her space.

I trust the factory alarm but would like the additional options aftermarkets can provide such as remote lights, remote windows, and car starter. Until I decide to go out and get a new one the factory alarm will do just fine for me.

Factory alarm here too. Someone did try to get in my trunk last year and I hear a horn just constanly blowing. I looked out the window and saw my lights flashing and thinking thats my car. What the hell is goin on hear I go outside and a MotherF... with a postal uniform is trying to get in my trunk. He did get the keyhole out but didn't get that far because I was leaving out the house. Man he made me furious. I scared him off though and thanks to Gm'* alarm. I got my merchandise still in the car.

There'* a little sensor going to a mechanical cable and connector in your trunk lid. If your lock is tampered with, even if they don't get the trunk open, it'll trigger. Neat little gizmo. Mine'* broken!

I have an aftermarket alarm system. I use the Clifford Matrix 3 right now w/ extra piezo siren under the dash that is fused so it can't be shorted out and with an electromagnetic sensor so that if I even leave my windows down a bug flies through the alarm will go off. So far this has worked out well for me since I got great deals on the alarm and installation. But I plan on switching up to the Aladdin alarm system so that I know if someone opens the door from up to a 1/2 mile away plus I can put the Aladdin system in each of my cars but have it controlled by one remote unit. Again, because I get a good deal. So depends, I try to take precautions to make sure my car doesn't get touched or stolen.

Yours would be pretty easy for the RCMP to spot.......I'd think. Funny you mentioned the kill switch. I've had a remote kill on all my previous cars.....disable the fuel pump. If it doesn't crank for 'em, they look for a kill switch, but if it cranks and doesn't start, they just think it'* a piece of junk and go elsewhere. This is the first car I've owned in 10 years that I didn't do this to.

My 98 Z71 had this, too, but I was so paranoid up in Seattle for 4 days (nobody drives their own car in downtown seattle) last november, I pulled a half dozen fuses out and took 'em with me, too!
