1995 sse greetings, computer question and more
Hello I'm new to the board, and just bought myself a 1995 bonneville SSE about a month ago. I was rear ended a week later and now the insurance comp. is paying for a new paint job, so I lucked out cause it needed one anyway.
What I'm wondering is what mods can I do to this car? It has the series 2 3800, which I read on this forum somewhere you can' t put a supercharger on it.
I also read here that this year had a computer charging problem, which the previous owner of mine said he replaced a year ago(from junk yard). I think the car is having the problem again because the voltage sits around 12v after running awhile and isn't acting right.
I'm wondering is the a way around this problem or a better computer I can put in that doesn't have this problem. I want to put a high powered stereo in it and can't with these problems. Will a H.O. alternator fix the problem?

In Techinfo there'* an article about the 95-03 UIM failure that you should be aware of....beyond that 94 and 95 were the same pcm and it was a flakey one to be kind about it.
Nothing really with a charging system problem that I'm aware of...more of a when the car runs oddly or badly and you can't figure it out.. swap out the pcm. Usually that fixes things up. Many here with your year have a spare pcm they picked up at a great deal from a JY etc for that just in case situation.

First Give the Battery cables a good cleaning...
And as for the PCM... Flakey.... I wouldn't know about that.... I have a 95 and the PCM still works..( well its PCM #3 or #4 I forget)... And when I was at the meet I had no issues with the PCM.....( But I brought 2 PCM'* with me just as a fail safe )<----- Call them Trunk PCM'*
