Default Gabreil Ultra or Monroe Monro-Matic Plus for rear shocks

I was looking at both brands but I wanted some help full advice on which would offer a good factory like ride on my car. So since everyone has been a big help to me so I am posting this one on the follow up on my previous post of rear shock replacement, so I am now posting again on which brand would offer me a good ride quality and last awhile. I have done my research on both and they both sound like good brands to go with but I am wanting other opinions so I turned to yall. So what would be a good one to go with. Any and all opinions and or reviews will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I've used Monroe shocks in the past on my older cars, no complaints. I was a big fan of their Sensa-Trac shocks on my '79 Olds 98 LS. Rock Auto carries them for your car for $16.87 each. For discount codes: http://www.retailmenot.com/view/rockauto.com

Hope that helps!

So in your opinion I should go with the Monroe brand right. Also I am gonna get them from my local auto parts store. My car has no back shocks just the springs and you fell every bump in the rear end and from time to time I end up bottoming out the springs in the back because I can see the small amount of damage to the bump stops and I also hear it to.

The Monroe'* are slightly firmer then stock from what I understand, but it is a welcome improvement according to most. Gabriels are not held very highly in our application, and don't last long.

I have Gabriels in the rear, and they are an improvement over what I had, which was factory original struts that were 18 years old with 165k miles and a blown air bag.

So longevity wise the Monroe'* would outlast the Gabriels if I understood right. I am also gonna need front struts by next year so I am wanting the same brand in the front so I want to put a good set all the way around.

Yes, get the Monroe shocks..and if the Sensa-Tracs aren't too pricey at your local store, go for it!
I've always replaced the rear springs on my cars at the same time, to fix the typical GM rear end sag. For the Olds: Sensa-Tracs, Moog Cargo coils and a GM rear sway bar, along with a larger GM front sway bar made it handle like it was on rails.

The Monroe quick struts I installed in the Park Avenue have held up very well so far.

Well I found out that Monroe doesn't make a quick strut for my make and model so since Gabriel does I am gonna half to go with them because last time I dissembled the struts on my other Oldsmobile the spring compressor broke and it tore up the a good friends garage along with almost breaking my arm so I am not wanting to due anymore strut dismantling any time soon. I am gonna due the Gabriel Shocks for the rear end and put the Gabriel quick struts in the front next year.
