Default Caveat Emptor!!! A short vent ...

Details may come out later depending on how the sellers respond(i.e. i will name names), but no matter what they say EVERYONE needs to watch what they buy second-hand. After my experience today, i believe i will only be dealing with people i know.

onto, to the vent ...

There i was at the INTENSE shop already with my parts for my cam install laughing at how the titanium spring retainers, i had bought second hand and already received a refund for, were gouged as if someone had installed them in ways they were never meant to be. A funny note on this is the dude who sold them to me - is the fact that he sold them to me at all - it was blatently OBVIOUS that they were damaged.
anyway, Tim King digs into my box of 'goodies' and what does he find where my S1X cam was supposed to be? A STAGE 1 Blower Cam - Note the absence of the "X"???? yep, i had been sold a regular Stage 1 (which i had never heard of before). i asked several times of the seller is this an INTENSE S1X cam and he always said yes. that makes strike two, but wait there is more ...
remember those retainers i mentioned earlier, well the supposed "105# springs" that came with them ... Well, there was something missing, twelve more springs!! it turns out that this set of springs were supposed to be a set of double coils and i was not sent the inner coils! Only the outer ones. Strike THREE!

i may be hosed on one count for sure - the springs, unless the guy returns my money. The problem for both of these items is i bought them in August - yeah, i know i waited a LOOONG time to have them installed, but somethings take time and mostly MONEY. The cam i can sell if the guy who sold it to me doesn't respond, but to me it would just be a hassle.

What is wrong with people?

Anyone else have issues like these?

I bought what was supposed to be a good set of 97+ GTP ignition coils. I asked him more than once if they would be ORIGINALS. When they came, one was some sort of replacement.

And I bet that one ohmed around 8K versuse the others of about 6K.

Xac, was this a BC transaction, Ebay or another source? As a person that sells a lot of stuff here on the board, something I hold in high regard is satisfaction of the person buying it.

It starts off with reaching what both feel to be a fair price.
Then packing and shipping. Pack as you would like to see something arrive to you.
Follow-up, if any problems are mentioned...take the lead and make it right.

Not sure if you have had contact yet with the seller, I would hope they are able to work something out with you and take care of the problems.

Since you asked, I did once buy a set of 19# injectors for my truck from a MOD on a forum. He had them advertised as flow-matched and never installed in his truck. He had also promised to send a TB adaptor plate we had arranged for. Received the package all excited, opened it and found a dirty set of injectors and no plate. Multiple PMs got apologies (he forgot to tell me he had them in the engine and neglected to send the plate) and promises to send the plate or refund the money. Multiple PMs and 2 months later, I chalked it up to one of those costly lessons.

Thing is, this guy was an upstanding Mod at the site. Claimed he was SOOOO busy (probably true) and kept forgetting to send me my goods (hmmmm...convenient?). Remembered to take the payment though, lol.

My guess is, after all this time, you will likely have to just take your losses and try and sell the parts you can't use to help defray the pain. It always sucks when this happens, but we have to try and be realistic and suck it up sometimes.

Going with what Lash said, it is also a VERY long time since the sale. That can't be helping the situation.

A reputable person would work things out. The items I got from Boost were packed WAY better than I would have ever expected to get them!!! And he followed up with me. I like doing business with someone I can trust!! When I do business on Ebay or occasionally on here I try to be as forthright and upfront as I can. If there is a problem I try to work things out so there is a meeting of the minds and both parties are happy.

good luck!!
