Default Who comes up with our headlight assemblies?

Has anyone wondered who came up with our headlight assembly, I dont think he or she has ever had to try and take them off or put them back on before. My cutlass had headlights that were a pain to remove too. I miss my alero, so easy pull up on 2 latches and just remove. I couldnt believe out of like 100 star keys I didnt have the right one to loosen those long skinny bolts that are suppose to turn the big screws that are connected to the plastic pieces on its end. Reminds me of a really good state highway union job. Anyways after polluting the air (thank god all the kiddies were in school) I broke out the channel locks and was able to get the headlights out far enough to change some bulbs.
I'll tell you what the real crisis is in this country, they need to stop making the headlights the most complex components on a car

Please if I am doing something wrong, tell me, the channel locks arent going to work forever

I believe yours are like mine or easier. Two big thumb screws on top of the metal that runs across the front of the car. They will be tough and probably require a pair of pliers, then lube the threads before reinstall and you'll be happier in the future.

92-95 are MUCH easier and simpler than 96+. I can have both headlights out in one minute flat.

Hehe...sorry ... figured GM only made things better for my truck and they probably did the same. Sounds like they made it tougher from Bill'* post.
